Guess what? Tuesday morning I was going about my normal morning routine to get my latte fix…and there she was! I was taken back a bit since it has been weeks since she was last spotted at the Starbucks. I was on the phone with an employee and had to quickly wrap that up so I could feel this situation out.
So as I stood behind her in line I tried to think of something clever to throw her way to spark some dialogue…cause there was no way I was missing the opportunity. Then she threw me another curve…she went for a drip instead of the Two Pump Non-Fat Hazelnut Latte. Crap!! Quick! What to say as I waited for my latte…
Me: “It has been awhile since I have seen you in here”
Her: “Yes, I fell off the wagon recently and started again. I just spend so much here…I figured I could save some money by making it at home”
Me: “I agree. Yet if this is our only vice…it isn’t a bad one to have.”
Her: “True. I was running late and had to give in.”
Me: “Well I hope to see you off the wagon more. Have a great day”
Her: ***laugh…” you too.”
Well there was no sighting of her this morning (Wednesday) and I couldn’t spend the time to wait today. Yes. I am willing to stalk the Starbucks and time it…I am that freaking curious. My time is running out…After I move this Starbucks is a bit out of the way for me. Gotta see if I can get a bigger nibble…next time I’ll just buy her a coffee and dive deeper…what’s to lose?

Is that what you’d call me?
The RT was fun. I loved 6th street. If I ever go back to school I am going to school in Austin. The city has it all and might just be the best city in Texas.

I wouldn’t call you a stalker! I think it’s fun when men at Starbucks have something to say.
I’m off to read the update on the roadtrip.

You are great!! I would love to have such a conversation in Starbucks. Too bad you weren’t in front of her in line and… you could have just paid for her “treat” which would have been a fun thing too.

You can’t wait another day!
And, as if you were heading into a war, you must have a strategy.
Maybe you can have a prewritten note (a short, sweet something with your e-mail or cell number) that you can hand to her — you know, “I think you dropped this” or something like that.
Or, ask the baristas how often they’ve seen her there and when and pre-pay a drink for her.
Or just go up to her next time you see her and ask her if she’d be interested in meeting you there one morning so you can get to know each other better.
good luck, and happy Dad’s Day!

Hope you had a great Father’s Day. And I can’t wait to read more about the Latte Queen. Hey, perhaps even Fate needs a jolt of caffeine to get her work done, too.

The move to the new house has totally jacked my rythym in the morning. My summer nanny was late today which got me off late…no latte rendezvous.
I am going to close this chapter or push it forward…no more feeling it out. I am just going to be tactful and direct….with some subtle charm. So my prayer tonight is that if it is meant to be, that it be…otherwise please close this door.
Stay tuned.
